Michael Schnedlitz (born March 13, 1984 in Tamsweg , Salzburg ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ). From March to September 2018 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria . Since September 2018 he has been state party secretary of the FPÖ Lower Austria. He has been a member of the National Council since October 23, 2019 . On January 30, 2020, he was elected General Secretary of the FPÖ.

Life

After primary school in Rinegg, Michael Schnedlitz attended the main ski school in Murau . Since 1998 he has lived in Wiener Neustadt , where he attended the military high school. He worked as a sole proprietor, partner or partner in the finance and construction company and was a member of parliament for Christian Lausch, Member of the National Council .

Michael Schnedlitz began his political career in 2004 at the Ring Freiheitlicher Jugend (RFJ) in Lower Austria, where he was a member of the regional executive committee from 2006 and was regional chairman until 2015. In 2010 he became a councilor in Wiener Neustadt , in December 2013 he was sworn in as a councilor and was responsible for the transport department. From 2010 to 2015 he was also the FPÖ club chairman; After the resignation of City Councilor Markus Dock-Schnedlitz, Michael Schnedlitz's brother, he took over this function again in 2016. After the municipal council elections in Lower Austria in 2015 , he became deputy mayor and city councilor for housing and social affairs in Wiener Neustadt.

After the state election in Lower Austria in 2018 and the resignation of Udo Landbauer he took over his mandate and also managing FPÖ party chairman was in Wiener Neustadt. On March 22, 2018 he was in the constituent state parliament session of the XIX. Legislative term as Member of the state parliament of Lower Austria sworn in . On September 20, 2018, Udo Landbauer took over Schnedlitz's mandate in the state parliament. Schnedlitz succeeded Christian Hafenecker as state party secretary of the FPÖ Lower Austria in September 2018 .

On October 23, 2019 Schnedlitz was at the beginning of the XXVII. Legislative period sworn in as a member of the Austrian National Council . In the FPÖ parliamentary club , he acts as the area spokesman for youth. On January 30, 2020, after the resignation of Harald Vilimsky and Christian Hafenecker, he was elected Secretary General of the FPÖ.
