Sabine Schatz (born September 9, 1978 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). She was sworn in as a member of the National Council on November 9, 2017 .

Life

After finishing elementary and secondary school in Ried in der Riedmark, Sabine Schatz attended the commercial academy in Perg , where she graduated in 1998 . She then worked for the Sparkasse Oberösterreich , after which she worked for the Socialist Youth Austria , the Youth Recreation Association Europacamp in Weißenbach am Attersee and the Austrian Children 's Friends . Since 2013 she has been working in the communications department of the SPÖ Upper Austria.

In 2019 she was elected deputy chairwoman of the ASKÖ Mühlviertel , with Michael Lindner as chairman .

From 1994 Sabine Schatz was a board member of the Socialist Youth (SJ) in Mauthausen and from 1999 chairwoman of the Socialist Youth in Ried in der Riedmark , where she has been the deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ since 2001. From 2001 to 2005 she was a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Upper Austria, from 2002 to 2008 she was chairwoman of the SJ in the Perg district . She has been a member of the SPÖ district executive committee in the Perg district since 2002. She has been a member of the municipal council in Ried in der Riedmark since 2003, and has been a member of the local council since 2012. Since 2013, she has been the chairwoman of the SPÖ women in the Perg district and deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ Upper Austria.

In the 2017 National Council election , she ran for the Mühlviertel regional constituency, succeeding Marianne Gusenbauer-Jäger . In the XXVI. During the legislative period , she was a member of the Human Rights Committee, the Equal Treatment Committee, the Culture Committee and, since June 2018, also the Incompatibility Committee. In the 2019 National Council election , she took first place in the Mühlviertel regional constituency. In the SPÖ parliamentary club , she acts as the SPÖ area spokeswoman for culture of remembrance in the 26th and 27th legislative period .
