Legal proceedings

Due to her dual function, Member of the National Council Gusenbauer-Jäger was suspected in 2013 of possibly receiving up to € 140,000 too much in remuneration (widow's pension and mayor's salary), which is why she had to go to court. The discussion was u. a. decisive for the (albeit not retroactive) amendment of the payment law in Upper Austria, which affirmed Gusenbauer-Jäger. In autumn 2014, Gusenbauer-Jäger stood trial for abuse of office. It failed to remedy defects in the Schwertberg senior and nursing home in a timely manner. At the end of the trial, she was found guilty and fined € 20,000. At the municipal council meeting on January 29, 2015, the SPÖ parliamentary group submitted an application for reimbursement of legal fees for the Gusenbauer-Jäger proceedings.
