Petra Oberrauner

Petra Oberrauner (born January 27, 1965 in Villach ) is an Austrian politician from the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). From April 2015 to November 2019 she was Deputy Mayor of the city of Villach, and since October 23, 2019 she has been a member of the National Council .

Life

Petra Oberrauner began studying pedagogy , scientific research planning and media technology in 1983 at what was then the University of Educational Sciences , later the University of Klagenfurt , from which she completed her Magistra in 1988. 1993 doctorate it in Klagenfurt for Dr. phil. In 2001 she became managing director and partner of ECC European Crossboarder Consulting GmbH . In 2005 she completed a postgraduate training at the University of Bolzano . From February 2017 to October 2019 she was a member of the supervisory board of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences - non-profit private foundation .

politics

After the municipal council and mayoral elections in 2015 , she became First Vice Mayor of the statutory city of Villach . At the beginning of November 2019, Irene Hochstetter-Lackner succeeded her in this position. She has been a member of the SPÖ Villach's district women's committee since 2015, since 2016 a member of the SPÖ Carinthia's regional party committee, the district party presidium of the SPÖ Villach and deputy city party chairwoman of the SPÖ Villach, and she is a member of the SPÖ's 2019 regional women's committee. In the 2019 National Council election, she ran for the SPÖ behind top candidate Philip Kucher as second in the list in the regional electoral district of Carinthia . On October 23, 2019 she was at the beginning of the XXVII. Legislative period as a member of the Austrian National Council . In the SPÖ parliamentary club , she acts as the area spokesperson for digitization in the 27th legislative period.
