Johannes Margreiter

Johannes Margreiter (born February 26, 1958 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian lawyer and politician ( NEOS ). He has been a member of the Austrian National Council since October 23, 2019 .

Career

Margreiter attended the boys' elementary school in Hall in Tirol from 1965 to 1968 , then the Franziskanergymnasium Hall in Tirol until 1976 . From 1976 to 1981 he studied law at the University of Innsbruck . He has been a lawyer in Hall in Tirol since 1987 and, at the same time, a sworn and court-certified expert since 2017.

Political career

From 1986 to 1992 Margreiter was an ÖVP municipal councilor in the city of Hall in Tirol and as this chairman of the environmental committee. In 1992 he founded the independent citizens' list "Für Hall" and from 1992 to 1998 city council. From 1998 to 2004 he was again city councilor and chairman of the old town committee. In 1998 he worked at the Liberal Forum and prepared the 1999 state elections in Tyrol . From 2004 to 2010 he was City Councilor for Finance. He first came into contact with the NEOS in 2014 and was a candidate for the Neos in the 2017 National Council election . In 2018, he took part as a volunteer campaign manager for NEOS in the municipal council and mayoral elections in Innsbruck. He also ran for NEOS in the 2019 European elections .

Private

Johannes Margreiter was married from 1983 until his wife's death in 2018 and has a son and a daughter. He lives in Hall in Tirol.
