Maximilian Koellner

Maximilian Köllner (born August 25, 1991 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). He has been a member of the Austrian National Council since 2019 .

Life

Maximilian Köllner, who grew up in Illmitz in Burgenland, completed six months of basic military service in the Austrian Armed Forces after graduating from the Neusiedl am See commercial academy in 2010 . From 2011 he studied political science at the University of Vienna , which he completed with the academic degree Master of Arts . From 2016 to 2019 Köllner worked as a consultant to the then Burgenland Governor Hans Niessl .

Maximilian Köllner has been a member of the municipal council in his home municipality Illmitz since 2012. Since 2017 he has been the SPÖ local party chairman and municipal board in Illmitz. In February 2019, he replaced Hans Niessl as SPÖ district chairman in the Neusiedl am See district together with Kilian Brandstätter, member of the Burgenland state parliament from Gols . In the 2019 National Council election, he ran as the top candidate of the SPÖ Burgenland in regional constituency 1A (Burgenland North) and made it into the National Council.
