Michael Seemayer

Michael Seemayer (born August 17, 1976 in Vöcklabruck ) is an Austrian trade union official and politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). He has been a member of the National Council since October 23, 2019 .

Life

After primary and secondary school in Timelkam, Michael Seemayer attended the HTL Wels in the school year 1990/91 . He then began an apprenticeship as a process control technician and industrial electrician at Lenzing AG , which he completed in 1995. In 1996 he completed his civil service , until 2003 he worked as a skilled worker at Lenzing AG.

In October 2000, at a meeting of the Federal Youth Board, he was elected chairman of the youth group of the Social Democratic Union , at the end of 2002 he was succeeded by Mario Lindner . In 2002/03 he attended the social academy of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Mödling. From 2003 he was regional secretary in Wels at the PRO-GE union , and on August 1, 2018, he succeeded Walter Schopf as state secretary of the production union .

Seemayer has a daughter and a son.

politics

Since 2017 he has been deputy local party chairman of the SPÖ in Regau , since 2018 he has been a co-opted member of the board of the Chamber of Labor Upper Austria . In the 2019 National Council election, he ran for the SPÖ behind Alois Stöger and Eva Maria Holzleitner as third party in the Upper Austrian electoral district . On October 23, 2019, at the beginning of the XXVII. Legislative period sworn in as a member of the Austrian National Council . In the SPÖ parliamentary club , he acts as the area spokesman for community service in the 27th legislative period.
