Joachim Schnabel

Joachim Schnabel (born August 10, 1976 in Wagna , Styria ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). He has been the mayor of Lang since 2010 and has been a member of the National Council since October 23, 2019 .

Life

After primary school in Lang and Lebring-Sankt Margarethen, Joachim Schnabel attended secondary school in Lebring-Sankt Margarethen and, in the 1990/91 school year, the HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule , specializing in civil engineering and timber construction. He then completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter . From 1995 he attended the specialist academy for interior construction and interior design at the Economic Development Institute (WIFI) Graz, from which he graduated in 1998 with a diploma. In 1998 he also passed the master craftsman examination , the entrepreneurship examination and the university entrance qualification examination for the fields of architecture and civil engineering. In 1996 he completed military service, then he worked as a carpenter, in work preparation and in project management. From 2004 to 2009 he taught at WIFI Graz. Schnabel is married and has three children.
