Politics and functions

In 2000, Greiner became a member of the municipal council of the market town of Judendorf-Straßengel and at the same time within the party a member of the district executive committee of the SPÖ Graz-Umgebung. She is also a member of the local executive committee of the SPÖ Judendorf-Straßengel, since 2008 deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ Graz-Umgebung and since 2012 a member of the regional women's committee of the SPÖ Styria. Greiner is also a member of the regional board of the association of local representatives of the SPÖ Styria and has been chairwoman of Volkshilfe Graz-Umgebung since 2012 .

After Günther Kräuter was elected Ombudsman in 2013 , Greiner moved up as a member of the National Council on July 1, 2013. She was a member of the National Council until October 28, 2013 and, following the inauguration of the Federal Government, Faymann II, moved back to the National Council on December 17, 2013.
