Gertraud Salzmann (born June 18, 1964 in Saalfelden ) is an Austrian teacher and lawyer, politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and since June 13, 2018 Salzburg's member of the Austrian National Council

education

After finishing elementary and secondary school in Saalfelden, Gertraud Salzmann attended the local higher education institution for business professions . In 1983 she began a teaching degree in religious education and a diploma in specialist theology at the University of Salzburg . She completed both studies in 1989 as Magister Theologiae (Mag.). Another teacher training course (history and combined religious education) from 1993 - 1996 she also completed her Magistra at the University of Salzburg.

She completed a law degree at the University of Linz from 2009 to 2013 as a Magister iuris . Her legal research focused on the constitution and public administration, fundamental rights, religious law and questions of integration.

Profession and volunteering

Gertraud Salzmann works as a teacher in secondary schools and as a lawyer specializing in labor law, school law and public service.

After the teaching internship at the Federal Commercial Academy II in Salzburg, followed a teaching position at the secondary school and the polytechnic school in St. Johann im Pongau , at the tourism school in Bischofshofen , at the Federal Commercial Academy St. Johann im Pongau and, since 1996, at the Federal High School / Federal High School in Zell am See where she teaches History and Political Education, Religion, Law, and Economics and Law. In addition, she is also a supervisory teacher, state-certified administrator and teacher for the entrepreneurship examination of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO).

She accompanies young colleagues in their school internship and teaching internship in their practical training to become a teacher. She also worked as an administrator and was a tutor for 13 years. She is committed to the student council and the Salzburg school partnership. She advocates the differentiated school system and the long form of the grammar school. Gertraud Salzmann is a member of the Technical Committee for General Education Higher Schools in Salzburg, Chairwoman of the State Management and a member of the Federal Administration for General Education Higher Schools, Public Service Union (GÖD AHS).

As a student, she worked in the faculty representation (student representation) and was already active as a youth on the parish council in her home parish of Saalfelden . In 1997 she founded the parent-child center in Saalfelden, which she conceptualized and also directed for six years. In addition, she was active for two more periods in the parish council and as a lecturer.

As a practitioner and expert on educational policy issues in the National Council, Gertraud Salzmann is primarily responsible for educational issues. In addition, she is concerned with representing regional interests and, as an employee representative ( ÖAAB ), education, work, mobility and living.

She is a member of the district executive committee and education officer of the ÖVP Zell am See , deputy municipal party chairwoman of the ÖVP Saalfelden and a member of the regional executive committee of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB) Salzburg.

In the 2017 National Council election in Austria , she ran on the federal list, in fourth place in the Salzburg electoral district and in tenth place in the Lungau / Pinzgau / Pongau regional constituency . In addition, she ran in the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 in fourth place on the state list and second in the Pinzgau district list.
