Hannes Schernthaner (born March 11, 1986 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). Since 2014 he is mayor in Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße and since June 2018 Member of the Salzburg Parliament .

Life

After primary school in Fusch an der Großglocknerstrasse, Hannes Schernthaner attended secondary school in Bruck an der Großglocknerstrasse and the Polytechnic School in Zell am See . He then completed an apprenticeship as an administrative assistant at the State of Salzburg . In parallel to working as a clerk in the finance group at the district administration for the Zell am See district , he passed the civil service advancement test at the Federal High School for Working People in Salzburg. From 2004 to 2009 Hannes Schernthaner was the youth representative of the community of Fusch an der Großglocknerstrasse , where he was the ÖVP managing director of the local party from 2009 to 2014. Since 2012 he has been deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP in Pinzgau , and since 2013 he has also been district chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB) in Pinzgau.
