Christoph Zipf (born December 5, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German tennis player .

Life

He spent several years with Hans-Dieter Beutel at the DTP management center in Hanover, where he was trained to succeed the then top German players Ulrich Pinner and Rolf Gehring. At the age of 17, he was considered the next generation of the German Tennis Association .

He played several times for Germany in what was then the Nations Cup in Düsseldorf and in the Davis Cup , mostly in doubles. He was in the final of the Tel Aviv tournament in 1983, where he was defeated by the American Aaron Krickstein . In the winter of the same year he was in the 1st Masters in the German Winter Grand Prix in the final and lost there against the eventual Wimbledon winner Stefan Edberg . The hoped-for successes at major tournaments subsequently failed to materialize.

Zipf worked, among other things, as a trainer for the Württemberg Tennis Association and several club teams.
