Christoph Zippel (born December 17, 1982 in Lauchhammer ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2014 .

education and profession

Born in Lusatia, he grew up in Altenburg in 1988 . Here he attended the Friedrichgymnasium from 1993 to 2001 . After high school and subsequent military service, he studied political science, sociology and philosophy at the Technical University of Chemnitz from 2002 to 2011 , which he completed with a Magister Artium . He then worked from 2011 until his election to the Thuringian state parliament as head of the department and head of training for the Malteser Aid Service in Chemnitz.

Christoph Zippel is single, lives in Altenburg and belongs to the Roman Catholic Church.

Political career

Zippel has been a member of the CDU since 2001. He was first elected to the Altenburg City Council in 2004 and re-elected in 2009 and 2014. There he has been parliamentary group chairman and member of the main committee since 2018. Since 2014 he has also been a member of the district council of the Altenburger Land district , where he is chairman of the committee for school, culture and sport and a member of the finance committee. In the state election in Thuringia in 2014 , he won the direct mandate in the Altenburger Land II constituency with 40.2 percent of the vote . In the Thuringian state parliament, Zippel is the deputy chairman of the committee for social affairs, work and health and a member of the NSU investigation committee. He is also the health policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

He was sent by the Thuringian state parliament as a member of the board of trustees of the “Thuringian Foundation Help for Blind and Visually Impaired People”.
