Christophe Gin
Christophe Gin (* 1965 in Nevers , France ) is a French photographer .
Life
Gin received no formal training as a photographer, but began a long-term photographic study of poor people in France in the early 1990s. His first study covered the years 1994 to 2001 and is entitled Nathalie, Conduite de Pauvreté (Nathalie, the process of poverty).
Since 2001, Gin has mainly been active in the French overseas department of Guyana , where it created the photo documentation Les Zones de Non-Droit en France (The lawless zones in France), which was taken in the border zone with Brazil among gold prospectors, soldiers and indigenous people. Gin is planning another documentary titled Le Pont des Illusions about his observations in Guyana from 2002 to 2014.
