Christopher Andrew

Christopher Andrew (born July 23, 1941 ) is a British historian , professor at Cambridge University and textbook author .

In Cambridge he heads the British Intelligence Study Group , which systematically deals with the subject of secret services. Internationally, even outside the specialist public, he became known for his fundamental publications on the former Soviet secret service KGB , which he wrote together with KGB defectors Oleg Gordievsky and Vasily Mitrochin . His close and trusting relationships with the British secret services meant that he was commissioned to write the official history of MI5 with access to the archives .
