Christopher Bwalya Yaluma

Christopher Bwalya Yaluma (born May 31, 1952 ) is a Zambian politician of the Patriotic Front (PF).

Life

Yaluma completed a degree in electrical engineering , which he completed with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Electrical Engineering), and then worked as an electrical engineer. He was elected for the first time as a member of the National Assembly of Zambia as a candidate of the Patriotic Front (PF) in the 2011 elections and was re-elected in the election on August 11, 2016 and represents the constituency of Malole .

In July 2012, President Michael Sata appointed him Minister of Transport, Public Works, Utilities and Communications to his cabinet . In May 2013 he was appointed Minister of Mines, Energy and Water Development as part of a government reshuffle. After Sata's death on October 28, 2014, he kept this ministerial office in the cabinet of his acting successor Guy Scott and in the cabinet of Edgar Lungu , who took over the office of president on January 25, 2015. In another cabinet reshuffle, he took over the resulting and redesigned office of Minister for Mining and Mineral Development, while the post of Minister of Energy became an independent department.
