Christopher Darden

Christopher Allen Darden (born April 7, 1956 ) is an American lawyer , author and former prosecutor . He gained worldwide fame in 1994 as a prosecutor in the criminal case against OJ Simpson .

Career

Darden earned a BS in crime administration from San Jose State University in 1977 and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1980.

Darden served 15 years in the Los Angeles Attorney's Office from 1980, specializing in the prosecution of violent crimes. He works intermittently as Assistant Head Deputy Attorney of the Special Investigations Division and has participated in the trial of 27 homicides. He achieved worldwide fame as part of the prosecution team in the trial of OJ Simpson .

Activity as a book author

Darden is the author or co-author of In Contempt (1996), The Trials of Nikki Hill (1999), LA Justice (2000), and The Last Defense (2002).

Personal

Dardens grew up in what he describes as a poor family in Richmond, California. His brother was a drug addict and died of AIDS just a month after the Simpson trial was pronounced .

In 1997 he married the TV manager Marcia Carter. The couple has three children.
