Christopher Metz

Christopher Metz (born July 14, 1955 in Viersen ) is a German lawyer, administrative officer and director of the Saxon state parliament .

Education

After graduating from high school and doing military service, Metz studied law and history at the University of Bonn from 1975 to 1981 . This was followed by the first and the second state examination and the graduation with a thesis in the fields of Heads of State and of the special administrative law . He also completed a supplementary course at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer .

Professional background

From 1985 to 1989 he was a full-time lecturer in the field of training and further education at the study institute for municipal administration in the administrative district of Cologne . Subsequently, until 1992, Metz took over the management of the legal office of the city of Sankt Augustin and was also the city's press spokesman. From 1992 to 1997 he was head of the main office (personnel, organization, data processing, council office and central services) as well as office manager of the city director and continued to work as press spokesman. From 1997 to 2002 he was district director ( political electoral officer ) at the district of Euskirchen and was entrusted with the areas of personnel, organization and data processing, school, youth, health and social affairs, and civil engineering. Since January 2003, Metz has been working as a political official in the Saxon state parliament. As a part-time job, he completed an apprenticeship as a management trainer and management consultant with Team Dr. Rosenkranz in Munich and worked as a trainer and coach for managers and employees. In the summer of 2006, Metz caused criticism for the private use of his company car. The preliminary investigation that was then initiated was discontinued by the Dresden public prosecutor in February 2007 because it was insignificant.

activities

As the Landtag Director, Metz is the permanent representative of the President of the Landtag . In addressing with the President, he controls the parliamentary area with legal service, plenary, committee and petition service as well as the resource areas of personnel, parliamentary affairs, budget, IT, organization, information services and building management. He is responsible for coordinating with the political groups in many areas .
