Christopher Winter (born August 13, 1971 in Hamburg ) is a German polo player and member of the team of world champions in elephant polo .

Sports career

Christopher "Niffy" Winter first got to know the game of polo in Africa on foot, then on a bicycle, and later on lively little ponies. From the age of 16 he switched to polo horses.

Christopher Winter plays in the low, medium and high goal classes. His official DPV handicap is +3 (as of 2009). He and his team made it to the finals in high goal polo from 2003 to 2007. In 2000, 2004 and 2006 he was voted Player of the Year by the German Polo Association. Until 2009 he took part in European championships and world championship qualifications five times. Germany has so far been in third place.

In addition to playing polo, he flies to Thailand once a year for elephant polo. In 2003 and 2008 his team became world champions.

Christopher Winter has played polo so far in Germany (Hamburg, Sylt, Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Chiemsee), in France, Spain, Italy, England, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Argentina, Hawaii, Chicago, Mexico, Palm Beach, Florida, Wichita and Thailand.

Christopher Winter is a member of the Hamburg polo club.
