Christos Papoulias
Christos Papoulias (born September 19, 1953 in Metaxourgio , Athens ) is a Greek architect .
life and work
Christos Papoulias studied architecture from 1971 to 1976 at the Università Iuav di Venezia with Manfredo Tafuri , Carlo Scarpa and Aldo Rossi . In Paris he took part in lectures by Michel Foucault and Roland Barthes . In 1980 he moved to New York. There he studied at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies . Papoulias maintained relationships with Joseph Beuys , Brice Marden , Jannis Kounellis and Juan Muñoz . His few completed buildings include the residence of Yannis Kounellis, Brice Mardens studio house on Hydra , a theater and a gallery in Athens. Papoulias exhibited at documenta 14 in 2017 .
