The Christ Brotherhood Falkenstein e. V. is a small Evangelical Lutheran religious order . The community is based in Falkenstein in the Upper Palatinate and assigned to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria .

history

In 1984, 21 members of the Christbruderschaft Selbitz left and settled in Markt Falkenstein. Here they founded the registered association Christ Brotherhood Falkenstein e. V. In the years 1990–1993 a spacious new building was added to the former old hospital. Today the community consists of 15 religious sisters and seven friars who are mainly active in missionary work. The parent company is based in Falkenstein, where the club's management is also based.

In addition to the missionary work, Bible camps as well as youth and family camps are offered on a regular basis. For this reason the community has a guest house . The program also includes conferences and church services . Young people have the opportunity to work as vacation workers or to do a voluntary social year .

Spirituality and self-image

The members of the order take a religious vow according to the evangelical councils , according to which they want to perform their service in poverty , chastity and obedience . There are eight guidelines for this:

"Everyone is in need of salvation, only the Holy Scriptures, Christ alone, only from faith, only from grace, Holy Baptism, Holy Communion and the priesthood of all believers."
