from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Christ Church is located in the Spetzerfehn district of the East Frisian community of Großefehn and belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . The catchment area of the parish includes Spetzerfehn as well as the Wiesmoor districts of Auricher Wiesmoor II and Wilhelmsfehn II . In 1950 the parish was founded as a chapel parish Spetzerfehn , which had neither a church nor a rectory. Services were celebrated in a room of "School III". It was not until 1953 that a parsonage with an attached prayer room began to be built. This was soon enlarged and a bell tower was added. It was not until 1970 that the chapel congregation was declared an independent parish and construction of the current church began. The foundation stone for the church was laid on August 23, 1970. On the 1st of Advent 1971 it was named "Christ Church" and given its purpose. Since it became too small again, it was rebuilt and expanded between 1994 and 1995.
