Chrysopilus erythrophthalmus is a two-winged bird from the family of snipe flies (Rhagionidae).
features
The flies are 9 to 10 millimeters long. They have yellow to red legs with only the tarsi brown. The mesonotum is matt black in the males, in the females it is black and has three brown stripes. The abdomen is matt black and tomentose yellow. The shiny wings are transparent. Their black-brown mark on the edge is relatively large. An indistinct bandage is formed.
Occurrence and way of life
The animals are common in central and southern Europe.
