Chuck Manning

Chuck Manning (* the thirtieth May 1958 ) is an American jazz - saxophonist .

Manning worked during his career a. a. with Charlie Haden , Joe Lovano , Hubert Laws , Warne Marsh , Bill Cunliffe, and Ravi Coltrane ; He was a member of the band of Alphonse Mouzon , on whose albums he participated, as well as the Bobby Bradford Mo'tet and the Sal Marquez Quintet. He recorded a number of albums with the Los Angeles Jazz Quartet (on Naxos Jazz) in the 1990s , which also included bassist Darek Oleszkiewicz . As a long-time member of the Los Angeles jazz scene , he did not record his first album under his own name ( Notes from the Real on TCB Records ) until the mid-2000s , after he had previously presented the joint album L. A. Calling with Isla Eckinger in 1991 . In 2004 he worked on Bennie Maupin's album Like a Dream . In recent years he has also recorded with Mouzon, Steve Porcaro and Dick Wood; he also worked with Jason Harnell and Darek Oles .
