Chusang monastery

The Chusang Monastery (Tib. Chu bzang dgon ) is a monastery of the Gelug -Schulrichtung of Tibetan Buddhism in Haidong district of Qinghai province, the Tibetan cultural region Tsongkha attributable. It is located in Huzhu der Tu der Tu Autonomous County in Qinghai Province, China . It was founded in 1649 in the time of the Qing Dynasty by Chusang Namgyel Peljor , who is also the first ' Living Buddha ' ( huofo ) of the Chusang incarnation line (Chinese: Quezang hutuketu却 藏 呼图克图 or Quezang huofo 却 藏 活佛) .

In 1723, during the Qoshoten uprising in the Kokonor area under the Mongolian prince Lobsang Tendzin ( blo bzang bstan 'dzin ), it was destroyed and later rebuilt, as were other monasteries in the area.

It has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-806) since 2006 .
