history

Vlad Mint, Jan Erik and Walter Bee founded the band Toys in Cologne in 1988. Two years later the trio renamed themselves Chyp-Notic and got a record deal with Coconut Records. Mint broke off his training as a dental technician, Bee quit his job as a programmer and Erik sold his shares in a nightclub.

This was followed by the first and to this day best known single Nothing Compares 2 U , composed by Prince . The fast-paced cover version of Sinéad O'Connor's top hit in Germany (11 weeks at number 1 ) reached number 16 in the singles charts. After a total of two albums and various successes, including a top 20 placement for the third single I Can't Get Enough (1992), Chyp-Notic broke up in 1994.

In November 2015 a new Chyp-Notic album with the title 25 was released , which contains remix and remaster versions of the old hits as well as four new tracks.
