The CineLatino has been an annual festival for Latin American film in Tübingen since the early 1990s . The festival was launched in 1993 by Paulo de Carvalho. The festival has developed into an important forum for Latin American film in Germany. Feature, documentary and short films show the diversity of the Latin American film scene. In addition to films by well-known directors, works by young innovative filmmakers will also be presented. One of the Ibero-American countries is presented in each country focus. Since the late 1990s, the festival has also expanded to other cities such as Stuttgart , Heidelberg , Frankfurt am Main , and Freiburg im Breisgau . Since 2003 there has been the parallel CineEspañol, in which Spanish films are presented. The CineLatino is currently being presented in Tübingen, Stuttgart, Freiburg and Rottenburg.
