Circumferentia articularis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As circumferentia articular (. Lat circumferentia "encirclement" and articulatio " joint ") is referred to in the anatomy of two joint surfaces of the forearm bones:

  • The circumferentia articularis of the ulna lies at its lower end and articulates with the incisura ulnaris on the radius .
  • The circumferentia articularis of the spoke lies at its upper end and surrounds the spoke head like a wreath. It is connected to the radial notch of the ulna.

Both articular surfaces are part of the ulnar-spoke joints ( articulatio radioulnaris proximalis and articulatio radioulnaris distalis ), which enable turning movements of the hand ( pronation and supination ). They form the joint head of the respective wheel joint .
