Ciro Pessoa , actually Ciro Mendes Pessoa Corrêa (born June 12, 1957 in São Paulo , Brazil ; † May 5, 2020 there ) was a Brazilian rock singer and composer and co-founder of the band Titãs .

Life

He founded the rock band Titãs in 1981 with seven others. In the course of his career he wrote various rock songs, such as Sonífera ilha, Toda cor, Babi índio, Homem primata and founded or was a member of other bands, some of which were the first gothic rock bands in Brazil, such as Flying Chair and Cabine C, Os Jetsons, Ricotas do Harlem. In 2003 he started a solo career and released an album.

Ciro Pessoa died in his hometown on May 5, 2020, aged 62. He came to a hospital for treatment because of his cancer when he contracted COVID-19 and ultimately died of this disease. The body was cremated.
