Cité Frugès

The Cité Frugès is a settlement in Pessac near Bordeaux . It was designed from 1924 to 1930 based on a design by the architect Le Corbusier with Pierre Jeanneret .

The settlement was financed by the industrialist Henri Frugès . It was originally planned with 317 units. Only a small part of it was realized because Frugès did not have the money to fully implement it. The settlement consists of four different house types ranging from 73 to 95 square meters.

Today the settlement is part of the world cultural heritage. The architectural work of Le Corbusier - an outstanding contribution to the “modern movement” .
