The film explores the history and development of Washington, DC , the capital of the United States, from its beginnings through the 1970s. Old prints and photographs from the archives of the historical society of the United States will also be shown. Recordings of various historical events round off the picture and call to mind , for example, Martin Luther King's speech: “I have a dream”.

Production and Background
