Clémence DesRochers (born November 23, 1933 in Sherbrooke ) is a Canadian actress, singer-songwriter and writer.

Live and act

The daughter of the lyric poet Alfred DesRochers attended the Conservatoire d'art dramatique in Montreal and also appeared with the drama group of Paul Buissonneau . After graduating from the Conservatoire, she had a few roles in radio productions for Radio Canada before she brought Jacques Normand to his Cabaret St-Germain-des-Prés from 1958-59 . In 1959 she joined the Les Bozos , a group of chansonniers around Jacques Blanchet , Hervé Brousseau , Jean-Pierre Ferland , Claude Léveillée and Raymond Lévesque .

In 1964 she wrote the libretto for Pierre Brault's Le Vol rose du flamant , which is considered to be the first musical made in Québec. Brault composed almost all of her chanson texts for her in the following years. In 1966 she appeared with Claude Gauthier , Pauline Julien and Gilles Vigneault in a show at the Paris Olympia .
