Antônio Zattera

Antônio Zattera (born July 25, 1899 in Garibaldi , Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil , † October 16, 1987 ) was Bishop of Pelotas .

Life

Antônio Zattera received on 12 August 1923, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 31, 1942, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Pelotas. The Archbishop of Porto Alegre , João Batista Becker , donated him episcopal ordination on May 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Caxias , José Baréa , and the Prelate of Vacaria , Cândido Julio Bampi, OFMCap .

On September 1, 1977, Pope Paul VI. the resignation request submitted by Zattera for reasons of age.

Antônio Zattera participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
