The Diocese of Vacaria ( Latin Dioecesis Vaccariensis , Portuguese Diocese de Vacaria ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Vacaria in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul .
Pope Pius XII founded the Territorial Prelature Vacaria on September 8, 1934 with the Papal Bull Dominici Gregis from parts of the territory of the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre , to which it was subordinated as a suffragan. On January 18, 1957, Pope Pius XII. the prelature with the bull Qui Vicaria Potestate to the rank of diocese. Pope Benedict XVI Subordinated the Diocese of Vacaria with effect from April 13, 2011 to the Archdiocese of Passo Fundo as a suffragan.
