Henrique Gelain

Henrique Gelain (born June 12, 1910 in Nova Pádua , Brazil , † December 31, 1993 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Vacaria .

Life

Henrique Gelain received on 28 October 1935, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 29, 1944, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the bishop of Cajazeiras . The Bishop of Caxias , José Baréa , ordained him episcopal on December 10th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Pelotas , Antônio Zattera , and the Prelate of Vacaria , Cândido Julio Bampi, OFMCap .

Pius XII. appointed him on May 22, 1948 Bishop of Cafelândia . The inauguration took place on August 22 of the same year. On March 28, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Vacaria. On February 5, 1986, Pope John Paul II accepted Henrique Gelain's resignation due to reasons of age.

Henrique Gelain attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
