The Diocese of Lins ( Latin Dioecesis Linensis , Portuguese Diocese de Lins ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Lins in the state of São Paulo .
history
The diocese of Lins was on June 21, 1926 by Pope Pius XI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ea est in praesenti from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Botucatu as the Diocese of Cafelândia and subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Paulo as a suffragan .
On May 27, 1950, the diocese of Cafelândia was renamed the Diocese of Lins . The diocese of Lins gave on February 16, 1952 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Marília . On April 19, 1958, the diocese of Lins was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Botucatu as a suffragan. The diocese of Lins gave on February 15, 1964 parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Bauru . Another assignment of territory took place on March 23, 1994 to establish the diocese of Araçatuba .
