Joaquim Ferreira de Melo

Joaquim Ferreira de Melo (born August 31, 1873 in Crato , Ceará , Brazil ; † September 22, 1940 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Pelotas .

Life

Joaquim Ferreira de Melo received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Crato on February 26, 1898 .

On March 15, 1921, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the Bishop of Pelotas. The Archbishop of Fortaleza , Manoel da Silva Gomes , donated him episcopal ordination on September 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop of Crato, Quintino Rodrigues de Oliveira e Silva , and the bishop of Sobral , José Tupinambá da Frota . The inauguration in the diocese of Pelotas took place on October 14, 1921.
