Clementine Nzuji

Clémentine Faik Nzuji (also known as Clémentine Faïk-Nzuji Madiya ; born January 21, 1944 in Tshofa , Kabinda , Democratic Republic of the Congo ) is an African poet who was born in what was then the Belgian Congo .

Background and past life

Nzuji graduated from Kinshasa University with a college education. At the University of Paris , she did her PhD on Studies in Africa . Nzuji is married and has five children. Many of her poems relate to the family.

Literary activities

Njuzi founded the Pléiade du Congo , a literary group in Kinshasa , and helped found the International Center for African Languages, Literatures and Traditions in Favor of Development (CILTADE) at the Université catholique de Louvain . She also carried out important research in the field of linguistics and oral literature. She won an award for writing short stories and poems.
