Claire Carmichael

Claire Carmichael (* 1940 in Melbourne ) is an Australian writer. She writes non- fiction and children's books under her real name, but is better known for crime novels under the pseudonym Claire McNab .

Life

She began writing while working as a high school teacher in Sydney . In the mid-1980s she gave up her job and devoted herself only to writing. In 1994 she moved to Los Angeles and has taught creative writing at UCLA since then . She was a president of the Sisters in Crime .

In Germany her 14-volume series about the lesbian detective inspector Carol Ashton and the six-volume series about the agent Denise Cleever are particularly well-known.
