Catherine Louise Webb (* 1986 ) is a British author.

life and career

At the age of fourteen she published her first book, which was published in 2002. Webb studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. In public she is usually compared to writers like Philip Pullman .

In Webb's story about the scientist Horatio Lyle in Victorian London, she creates a crazy, funny and dangerous world around Horatio Lyle for the reader. So far, he and his friends have been fighting against an evil and supernatural power in three books.

In 2017 she received the World Fantasy Award for The Sudden Appearance of Hope for best novel. In 2018 she was honored with the Special Mention of the Philip K. Dick Awards 2018 for 84K .
