Clara Mónica Passafari de Gutiérrez (born 20th March 1930 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ;. D 3. June 1994 in Rosario , Santa Fe , Argentina) was an Argentine anthropologist , anthropologist , writer and poet.

biography

Clara Passafari's parents Elizabeth Badolato and Italo Passafari moved her from Buenos Aires to Santa Fe when she was very young. Passafari visited the Instituto Nuestra Señora del Calvario there . In 1947 she graduated as Maestra Normal Nacional . She later moved to Rosario in the province of Santa Fe and studied at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), where she received the title of Professor of Philosophy and Literature.

She married Eduardo Gutierrez, with whom she had four children: Clara Monica, Laura Inés, Sergio and Claudia.

Clara Passafari holds degrees in sociology and Argentinean literature and a doctorate in philosophy and literature . In 1975 she became the cultural manager of the Organization of American States . For seven years she was director of university expansion at UNR. From 1971 to 1992 Clara Passafari worked as a full-time researcher on early cultures and was also a professor of anthropology, studying oral tradition and folklore.

In Rosario she spent 19 years in the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (German: National Art Fund), where she specialized in folklore together with Augusto Raúl Cortázar . She was co-director of the Revista Argentina de Política cultural (German: Argentinisches Journal für Kulturpolitik). Passafari has taught folklore and education, cultural entertainment and political actions on cultural and traditional heritage in Argentina, the US and Europe in order to revive the cultural richness of traditional communities.

Honors

In 1984 the non-profit cultural organization Fundación Konex honored Passafari as one of the five best Argentine experts on folklore. In 1989 she received the Reconocimiento - Alicia Moreau de Justo award .
