Claude-Victor de Broglie

Claude-Victor, prince de Broglie [ klod vikˈtwaʀ pʀɛ̃s də ˈbrɔj ] (born September 22, 1756 in Paris , † June 27, 1794 ibid) was a French politician and officer from the family of the dukes de Broglie .

Life

Claude-Victor was the eldest son of Marshal Victor-François de Broglie . He fought for the independence of North America , in 1789 became a member of the aristocracy of Kolmar and Schlettstadt in the States General, entered the National Assembly , in which he vigorously represented the cause of the revolution , and was later employed in the Rhine Army.

But when he did not recognize the king's suspension decided on August 10, 1792, he was first suspended, then brought before the Revolutionary Tribunal and guillotined on June 27, 1794 .

Claude-Victor was married to Countess Sophie von Rosen (1764–1828) since 1779, with whom he had the following children:
