Claude Bernard (poet)

Claude Bernard (born March 6, 1935 in Saint-Martin-des-Tilleuls , Département Vendée ) is a French poet of texts for Catholic church music .

Bernard holds a degree in theology , worked as a nurse in nuclear medicine, and is now retired. He was one of the founding members of the ACCREL organization , in which church authors and composers have come together, and was its president from 1992 to 1996. Together with Marie-Thérèse van Lunen Chenu, he is co-president of the organization Femmes et Hommes en Église 'Women and Men in the Church' , which campaigns for gender equality in the Church. He is also involved in Jonah groups that strive to assert the spirit of the Second Vatican Council against opposing official church tendencies.

Bernard prefers to work with Jean-Marie Vincent and Jo Akepsimas .
