Claude Durrens

Claude Durrens (born August 22, 1921 in Cenon , Gironde department , † December 20, 2002 in Bordeaux ) was a French postage stamp artist (engraver and designer).

As an engraver, he was a sought-after personality not only in France, because in addition to around 400 postage stamps, he was also entrusted with engraving the 200 and 500 franc notes. He also designed postage stamps for Cameroon, Monaco, Andorra, Lebanon and Laos.

In 1961, 1964, 1966, 1971 and 1972 he was awarded the Grand prix de l'Art philatélique for his achievements.
