Claude Moisy

Claude Moisy (born in France in the 20th century ) is a French journalist and author .

Life

Moisy began his journalistic career at what is now France's highest-circulation daily newspaper, Ouest-France . He then worked for the Agence France-Presse (AFP) press agency for 35 years . He worked for the agency in Rangoon in Burma , New Delhi in India , London and Washington, DC in the USA . In Washington he collected material about the Watergate affair and wrote a book about the case of the US President Richard Nixon . From 1990 to 1992 he was President of Agence France-Presse. During these years he initiated the internationalization of the agency, introduced new technologies and reduced costs within the agency during these years of the economic crisis in France.

After leaving AFP, Moisy became Head of Administration for Reporters Without Borders . In autumn 2009 he defended AFP's statutes against attacks from outside with a letter to the editor in the French daily Le Monde .
