Claudia Blöser

Claudia Blöser is a German philosopher and physicist at the University of Frankfurt . Her main research interests are Immanuel Kant , hope , forgiveness and free will .

Life

Claudia Blöser studied physics and philosophy as a minor at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and at the University of St Andrews with grants from the German Research Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service . She graduated in 2005 with the excellent (1.0) thesis Energy states in a semiconductor superlattice in crossed electric and magnetic fields . In 2012 Blöser received his doctorate with the thesis Attribution at Kant: the connection between person and action in Kant's practical philosophy after passing the doctoral examination ( summa cum laude ) for a doctorate in philosophy. Blöser has been a temporary academic advisor at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Frankfurt since 2013 and teaches her main research interests in Kant, moral psychology (especially hope and forgiveness), ethics, rationality and free will. In the summer semester of 2017, she was a substitute professor for the history of philosophy at the University of Siegen . As part of her habilitation, Blöser is currently researching the question of "what hope is [and] what standards of rationality it is subject to" and the function of hope.
