Claudia Carbo , who grew up in Lima , is a German-Peruvian jazz singer . Known for her phrasing and arrangements, she sings the classic jazz of the 1940s as well as the full spectrum of Latin jazz .

The trained journalist, who lives in Wiesbaden, started her music career relatively late in 1997. She worked for years as a PR woman in business and was in Lima for 22 years because of her marriage to a Peruvian . She was familiar with jazz from her parents' house - her father played in the Jazzkeller Frankfurt in the early 1950s while studying .
