Claudia Diehl

Claudia Diehl (born January 30, 1968 in Bensheim ) is a German sociologist.

Life

In 1988 she began studying sociology and psychology at the University of Mannheim , which she graduated with a degree in 1994. In 1991/92 she studied at Indiana University Bloomington . From 1995 she was a research assistant at the MZES in Mannheim, where she received her doctorate in 2001. From 2002 she worked at the Federal Institute for Population Research until she took up a junior professorship at the University of Göttingen in 2006. From 2009 to 2013 she was professor of sociology in Göttingen with a focus on migration and ethnicity . Diehl has held a professorship for microsociology at the University of Konstanz since 2013 . Her research focuses on the integration processes of immigrants, phenomena of international migration and processes of ethnic demarcation such as xenophobia and discrimination. She is a member of the Expert Council of German Foundations for Integration and Migration .
