Claudia Effenberg (softball player)

Claudia Effenberg (born December 18, 1965 in Hamburg ) is a former German softball player and trainer .

Softball player

Claudia Effenberg came to softball in 1994 after playing baseball for a few years . With the Hamburg Knights it was in 1995, 2005 and 2008 German softball champion and 2004 and 2006 German Softball Cup Winners . Also in the intervening years she reached the final round of the German championship with the team. In the field she plays on the positions 1st base, catcher and 3rd base.

In 2008 she was appointed to the Hall of Fame of the German Baseball and Softball Association .

trainer

After initially working as a player coach in the club, Effenberg was head coach of the German junior softball national team from 2003 to 2006. She took part with the juniors in two European championships (2004 in Paris and 2006 in Collecchio ). After her successful work in the youth sector, she was promoted to head coach of the German national softball team for women in 2006. In 2012 she resigned from this post for personal reasons and Udo Dehmel became her successor.

Private

Claudia Effenberg is the sister of former football - international midfielder Stefan Effenberg .
