In 2003 his satire collection Finsterland was published . He became known through his debut novel Infamità (2006). In this thriller he describes psychological constellations of everyday life in Italy as well as power struggles within the Cosa Nostra between mafia godparents and their rivals.
In his work Mala Vita (2009), which is based on extensive research, he takes up the mafia money shifts to Caribbean tax havens of the mafia. He particularly goes into the involvement of western governments, banks and secret services, as well as networking with “godparents” of the so-called honorable society (societá d'onorata). La Nera (2012) describes the social advancement of a young woman through marriage into the society of the upper ten thousand, without her realizing that it is a family from the Mafia. In this novel, Mancini deals for the first time with the massive environmental crime of the Mafia, of which politicians across Europe paint a pathetic picture.
